Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to control it.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember things about you β like that you're logged in, or which coupons you've claimed β across page loads and visits. Some are essential. Some are optional.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for DealsBanana to work. Most live in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies, but they do the same job.
- token, role, user details β keep you signed in and route you to the right pages (local storage)
- Google sign-in session β a session cookie when you sign in with Google (about 24 hours)
- biryani_cart β what you are about to order or claim (local storage)
- db_analytics_consent β remembers if you turned analytics off (local storage)
- reCAPTCHA β Google may set cookies on sign-up and contact forms to stop bots
- Stripe β sets cookies for fraud prevention when you pay for anything (a ticket, a deposit, a LunchBox order, a voucher or a restaurant plan)
Functional
Make the site easier to use; it works without them.
- db.customerLocation.v1 β the city or location you shared, kept for 30 days so we can show nearby deals without asking again (local storage)
- manvi_guest_chat, manvi_thread, manvi_prefs β your recent conversation with Manvi and preferences you asked her to remember, so a page reload doesn't lose them (local storage)
- bh_utm_first_touch / bh_utm_last_touch β which link brought you here (e.g. a newsletter), so we know which channels work; attached to your sign-up (local storage)
- bh_driver_queue β for LunchBox drivers only: location updates waiting to send when the signal drops (local storage)
- Small interface preferences: dismissed banners, an install prompt you closed, muted sounds
Analytics (on unless you turn it off)
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages and features help people. It is on by default; you can turn it off for your browser below, and it never loads when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. When it is on and you are signed in, your sessions are linked by an internal account number (not your name or email) so we can see how the same person uses the site across devices. Pages in the admin area are never sent.
Marketing
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not share data with ad networks for cross-site retargeting.
3. Third-party services that may set cookies
- Google Maps β when a map is shown (a venue map, or the live LunchBox driver map), Google may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy
- Stripe β on payment pages, for fraud prevention
- Google reCAPTCHA β on forms, to stop automated abuse
4. How to control cookies
On DealsBanana
You can turn Google Analytics off (or back on) for this browser at any time:
In your browser
All major browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies and site data through Settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop you signing in or claiming coupons.
- Chrome: Settings β Privacy and security β Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings β Privacy & Security β Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings β Privacy β Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings β Cookies and site permissions
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out: Google Analytics stays off.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add or remove cookies. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
